How to keep calm while adapting hard and fast
Stop jumping through algorithm hoops, start honing your digital strategy.
From listening, and from observing behaviour, I can see that a lot of people feel overwhelmed not only by adapting to the rapid changes in tech’ but by the plethora of people trying to make bank from telling us all what to do without having accomplished it themselves. My motivation for this column is having a topic to write about each week that is not personally revealing and is, hopefully, of practical use to others. It is paywalled because my previous writings about this topic, in the late 2000s, were rehashed and sold by various online coaches for amounts much higher than this subscription.
In theory, you should be able to customise the emails you receive from me by unsubscribing when you receive ones from categories you're not interested in. 'In theory' because the Substack platform, on which After Studio Hours is built, is still relatively new and there are, at times, glitches and oversights – like not listing the category in the email, which is why I’ve put in the subheading. If you go to the After Studio Hours website, you can see categories like Art, Essays, Digital Strategy etc in the menu bar at the top of the page and above the title in each individual post.
If you don’t want all posts delivered via email, you can type afterstudiohours.com in the URL bar or visit my website and tap or click the latest image in the Updates section. I also post links to recent writing in the Story Highlights section of @hazeldooney at Instagram, if you’d rather hear about it there.
So how is this related to keeping calm while adapting hard and fast and not getting overwhelmed by the rapid changes in tech’ and massive influx of information online?
